A Door of Hope Ministries is available for retreats, seminars, Women's or Men's Day programs, health affairs, education of lay counselors, prayer intercessors and support groups.

We are a non-profit organization operated by a volunteer board of directors. All donations are tax-deductible and are used for scholarships and operating expenses.

Meet The Staff
Rena Majors, RN,
Founder, Executive Director, of A Door of Hope Ministries.

Rena received her Nursing degree from Oakwood College.She has worked as a critical care nurse and a clinical Nursing Instructor. She began the ministry in 1994 from her recovery experience. Under her direction in 1999, A Door of Hope Ministries opened Hope’s House, a residential counseling ministry for women.

Rena travels around the country speaking at seminars, retreats, and workshops about the Good News of the Gospel to heal hurting hearts. She ministers as a lay counselor at Hope’s House and is a Certified Belief Therapist. Her story of healing has been featured in Dorothy Eaton Watts’ book Never Thirst Again, Straight Talk by Loretta Spivey, and in an article in Message Magazine. Rena appears on Three Angels Broadcasting Network in a 6 part series entitled, “Healing Hurting Childhoods,” “Issues and Answers”, 3ABN Presents, and 3ABN Today. Since the inception of A Door of Hope Ministries, Rena has ministered to countless numbers of hurting women and men with a message of hope, freedom, and healing.
Brenda King, M.Ed.
Program Coordinator, Counselor for Hope’s House
Hope's House is a residential counseling facility of A Door of Hope Ministries. Hope’s House provides counseling services for women who have been victims of all forms of abusive relationships. Brenda received a B. A. in Psychology from Oakwood College and a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Howard University. She has completed three years of doctoral studies in Counseling Psychology at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Brenda has worked with a variety of women’s issues and problems including domestic violence, abortion and adoption issues, homelessness, mental illness, and homosexuality. She has also worked as a Research Assistant for the Center for Health Research at Tennessee State University where she authored a paper called Predictors of Depression in the Elderly African-American Population. She holds membership in the American Association of Christian Counselors. Brenda appears on Three Angels Broadcasting Network’s Issues and Answers, 3ABN Presents, and 3 ABN Today.
