HR Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Assistant will be responsible for assisting with onboarding employees, conducting audits, managing filing and scanning tasks, and supporting events within the A Door of Hope ministry. The HR Assistant will help the organization to maintain an efficient workflow while supporting all employees. All activities are to be conducted in a manner that helps improve ministry effectiveness, achieve development compliance, track trainings, manage reporting and benefits, and fulfill organizational objectives while making disciples in our community and bringing glory to God.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Onboard new employees and maintaining employee status.

  • Assist with ongoing and annual benefits program.

  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting tasks.

  • Assist other administrative staff with supporting the licensing and development team.

  • Ensure proper collection, recording, and maintenance of files and documents in alignment with audit requirements, in coordination with administrative and programs teams.

  • Maintaining compliance standards within current process.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.

  • Provide assistance with organizing ADH events when required.

  • Assist in all other related duties when necessary.

LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

HR Assistant > HR Supervisor > Director of Administration > Executive Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong commitment to the Statement of Faith and philosophy of A Door of Hope.

  • High school diploma with a minimum of two years administrative or HR experience, or a bachelor’s degree. Preferably in Human Resources.

  • Familiarity with foster care or social services is helpful but not necessary.

  • Excellent organizational and office management skills, ability to function with minimum supervision, able to multi-task while also able to prioritize tasks accordingly.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office. Advanced computer skills welcomed – Programs, Internet, and Network knowledge.

  • Able to learn new programs or databases without major oversight.

  • Enthusiastic when working; ability to establish priorities and direct multiple problems or inquiries simultaneously.

  • Flexibility and Adaptability is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrates compassion and empathy, earning the confidence and trust of others while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with reliable transportation.

  • Successfully complete a criminal background screening.

  • Must be able to move 25 lbs.
