Meet The Leonhardt Family

Ms. Cheryl Leonhardt has been a licensed foster parent for just one year, but her impact has already been remarkable.

As a single foster mom with a heart for teens, she stepped in right away, welcoming two teenage boys into her home. With one bed still open, she remained available for short-term placements and eventually said yes to making one of those placements long-term. For a season, she was caring for three teen boys at once, meeting each of their needs with intentionality and care

With a background in education, Cheryl has gone above and beyond to support her teens academically and emotionally. She takes the time to understand each child individually, connecting them to tutoring, therapy, assessments, and specialized school options that help them succeed. Her advocacy extends beyond her own home, even offering guidance and resources to support other children in care. She has also walked closely alongside biological family members, helping support reunification efforts with patience and care.

In less than a year, she has already helped change the trajectory of multiple lives and is actively preparing to open her home to even more teens. Her yes continues to create a ripple effect of impact.
